Nicole Shangin and Jorge Cabrera Wedding
Shooting wedding photography in Anchorage, Alaska has become my greatest passion. I meet so many wonderful people. I love every aspect – from capturing the bride having her hair and makeup applied, the ceremony and special moments in between to the special details of the day – knowing that bride and groom have planned meticulously for this day.
This is a wedding I recently photographed for Nicole Shangin and Jorge Cabrera. Two incredibly kind and loving people. She is so lovely and has those really fun eyes that smile every time you look at her. Here are some of my favorite images from the day and into the night. Enjoy.

The gorgeous floral design was created by Jessica Kiehner of Blushing Blooms. She created every aspect of floral decor from the fresh orchids in Nicole Shangin’s hair, bouquets and boutonnieres to the complete floral decor of the church and tables of the reception hall. The room was transformed into an incredibly gorgeous space with splashes of deep oranges and tropical pinks everywhere. It did not feel like deep winter in this room. Orchids, curly willow, pink leaves and dangling bits of bling. Jessica Kiehner did an amazing job! Nicole also kept Jessica on staff to skillfully transfer the flowers from the church to the party room. Very smart. No stress for the bride or her family. When you allow your vendors and wedding planner to do what you hire them do for you, the bride and groom and their family can relax on wedding day and truly enjoy the entire event without stress – as a wedding should be.

Nicole Shangin’s wedding makeup was artfully applied by Diane of COR. Nicole Shangin, er . . . Mrs. Jorge Cabrera, is a lovely lady and she looked glamorous for her wedding day. Nicole was smart and had Diane on staff to makeup the ladies of the wedding party and mother of the bride. When you allow your make up artist to apply for all with hair and makeup, you will have a perfectly gorgeous wedding party. Each lady can be individual yet the artist knows how to create continuity and unison for the wedding party.

I just loved the floral decor. Deep pinks and oranges, pink leaves and even hanging candles everywhere. Nicole even had pink champagne. A very classy touch.

The wedding cake was provided by Creative Cakes by Jeryll.

Nicole and Jorge left the event and passed through a giant sparkler send off.
