Crystal and Stefan Teaser

I am back in town after photographing a brilliant and fun wedding in Skagway, Alaska! Crystal and Stefan are from British Columbia and chose me to photograph their wedding. They arrived by ocean liner the day of and we went to the church then the entire group walked all over Skagway for our fun capture. They make a wonderful pair together and really fun. This is just a teaser. Keep checking back as we will upload more later.

Annual Fish Fry

Well Anchorage’s annual Fish Fry took place last Friday. It was a terrific evening of fun, drink and delicious salmon dinner. A gathering of all those who support the artists that create the incredibly unique fish you see around Anchorage streets all summer long. Then as many of you know, the fish are all gathered up for display at the State Fair and once the fair ends, the Fish Fry takes place. This is when the fabulous fish are auctioned off for charity.  My friend, Gayla’s fish, Upscale Gold Fish, brought in $3,000 this year for local charity! Go girl! We are all so proud of you Gayla Ranf.  Is it tacky to say that Gayla’s artwork has brought in $15,000 to local charities so far? Well it’s out there now. Congrats to all of the local artists accomplishments and gifts of themselves.  Please visit the Wild Salmon on Parade website link below and click on Community to see the local charities we all support.

A Nice Little Chianti

Michael, my husband, Andrew’s cousin, ( wow! that was a mouth full of commas ) came over and brought this very nice little Chianti. Michael belongs to the wine club of Wine Styles of Anchorage, Alaska. So we sat in our little Vanni Bistro and enjoyed a sip recently. If you like a good Chianti, stop by and tell our friends at Wine Styles that Renee and Andrew Vanni sent you. It’s a really nice little place for wine and gifts. It’s been tough on all of the small businesses along the Old Seward near O’Malley and Huffman ths year, with the intense road construction that has been going all summer as they create that road clover. So take some time and stop by. We must support our small business owners. It may be a chain but it’s locally owned!

Michael and his wife gave us a membership for Christmas so I plan to head over and get a few bottles of this before I can’t get any more. Cheers!
