Vanity

Okay, so this post is a bit of vanity. Meaning, a photograph of myself. Embarrassing as it is –  I wanted to share a note about the photograph and how it came about.

I consistently get notes from people, from all over the place, stating that I should have a ‘profile picture of me – myself.’ Now I always get a bit miffed citing, “I HAVE a perfectly good profile photograph of myself “.  And I actually like that photograph. Mind you, it may not show my face, but hey! – I see many other photographers who also take incognito-style photographs of themselves and it seems perfectly acceptable for them. I say this coming from someone who does not like having attention brought to myself in any way, shape, or form. Of course if you ask my girlfriends, they may tell you just the opposite. Okay . . . so who isn’t a totally complete idiot and absolute ham in front of their closest friends? . . .  right?

So I have been trying to get the nerve to have a friend take a profile pic of me. How vain, I feel. How do you ask someone, “would you photograph me please?” without seeming odd. So I enlist pal, Gayla, a great photographer, to take my photograph. I could have asked Dori, but my gawd, I am always asking that girl for something. Though Dori is a great photographer.

I think it’s time to capture a bit more professionalism in my image projection but not too stuffy, thus the polka dots. Now I am not sure that we captured the professional look here though I am happy with pal, Gayla’s capture. And I must say, I did not even have to use a softening filter, as a play in curves took my 48 year old wrinkles out quite nicely. A beautiful trick I learned from Miss Annabel Williams, only the greatest Lifestyle Photographer that ever lived.  And as the makeup artist, who applied my face, so eloquently put it, “MAC Studio Tech foundation will change your life as it is the best foundation to even out red, blotchy skin. . .” Hmmm, guess we should have applied that to my entire chest region and my arms . . . Oh! and maybe I should have whitened my teeth. Just a little . . .

Your comments are always appreciated!! Cheers!

FACEBOOK ME! Hope to see you there.

Joanne and Logan

Meet Joanne and Logan. They have chosen me to photograph their wedding this summer and of course, we got together for some fun engagement photos. I enjoy how laid back this couple are and we ended up having such a great time together. This is a teaser and sneak preview. I will have more images uploaded onto the lifestyle portrait site. Please stop by and look for those super fun images. Thanks you two. I am really looking forward to your intimate wedding event, especially knowing where the party will take place! So Alaskan. Cheers!

Something fun  for them . . .

Something a little more serious for the grand folks . . .

Deb and Craig – Sneak Preview

This is Deb and Craig. A couple whose wedding I will be photographing soon. We got together for an engagement style shoot and Craig really kept me laughing. This is one fun couple. And she is so teeny petite, just as sexy as can be; he is good looking and just a big teddy bear. I can tell he adores Deb – geez, he lifts her up with no effort. He was one of Anchorage’s most eligible bachelors and people are flying in from far and wide to witness this big guy get married.  These two seem perfect together. They love to dance, ride any one of their motorcycles throughout the states, hang on their boat. They just do everything together and you can tell whatever it is, they have fun doing it. What a fabulous wedding party this will be!

Is this scene just too fun? . . . and sexy! It will be interesting to see how many local photographers will copy these images. I see my images and locations mimicked quite often.
