Tiffany

Tiffany came all the way from Valdez, Alaska to photograph with me for her high school senior images! She had a really fantastic attitude for our session together, which is why we got some really great shots. I enjoy photographing with people that just let me drag them all over town in search of fun backdrops. I think that she has that adorable California-girl look and very naturally beautiful. Gorgeous deep coloured eyes, perfect skin and a wonderful smile. Her eyes can take on so many colours. Don’t ask me how that happens, I do not change eye colour. Enjoy!

I really prefer black and white but sometimes I just cannot choose between that or colour for an image.

It was truly cold outside! This lovely beauty never complained. What a trooper! Thanks Tiffany. We got some really fun stuff.

Look at those gorgeous deep coloured eyes!

We found some really cool tree shadows to play with! She was totally game. Aren’t they fun?

MacKenzee

MacKenzee flew all the way from Wisconsin, where she lives just to photograph with me! I am humbled and thrilled. We had a really good time capturing her high school senior images. She has the most gorgeous eyes and they are almost black! Enjoy.

Las Vegas

Well, it has been a very long time since I have posted on my blog. I have been pretty busy and more importantly I was in Las Vegas for the WPPI – the wedding photographers convention. I love these events, as I learn new things and make all kinds of new friends. I even saw ‘old friends’. It was fun running into Terrell Lloyd, who was teaching a course at WPPI and a really great guy. I met him while attending courses in California – that summer school is a fabulous group to learn from!  What stands out about Terrell is his boisterous personality. Several times I would hear this shout from him across campus, “Hey Renee . . . from Alaska . . .”  He’s a very talented photographer for the San Franciso 49ers. Check out his website. Terrell Lloyd.   That was the same campus where I met and first heard of Gene Higa. Check him out.  Gene Higa . Another fantastic giving soul. Here is the site for that school connection: Golden Gate School of PhotographyKind of weird seeing photos of myself still on that site but I guess no one would know but me. Thank gawd because I am such a dweeb.

Ran into 2 other classmates at WPPI from that same California campus! With the 12,000 or so photographers that attended the WPPI event, it is really quite impressive that I would run into anyone I would know from across the country. My friend and fellow photographer, Tracy Burr, flew over from England. We met in a course we both took from Annabel Williams, while I was in England last year. I think that I turned Tracy onto my never-ending-thirst for margaritas. Tracy and I participated in several shoots while there. I also made her pose for me in various areas off the strip. This very same day above is the day’s end shot.  I am not sure she was too happy about it, as she said, “you keep shouting at me!” . . . Well, the strip is a busy place, plenty of loud noises but I suppose that I am very loud anyhow. Being married to an Italian-New-Yorker can do that to ya. But she made me laugh. And I got some very nice shots of my gorgeous friend with my Canon. See those below.

I attended Jerry Ghionis’s platform course. What a fantastic personality. He is not only a master photographer but a truly warm, giving soul who shares so much of himself and his craft. He’s not bad on the eyes and his wife is just as gorgeous. She is right there, supporting him. If you ever have the opportunity to learn from him, you must gather whatever funds you can to do so. Jerry Ghionis.

I stayed at the MGM Grand Hotel, which was perfect. All the courses and evening events were there. This is the view of New York, New York from my room. Not a bad view. Tracy and I took in Criss Angel’s Believe show. Check out his website, it’s a fun interactive site. Criss Angel Believe.   Tremendous visuals and loved the show. Out of the hundreds of people attending the show, he pulls Tracy up to stage for a magic trick. He guessed her word and we don’t have a clue how he did it.

Yes, we actually did eat . . . plenty!! Just one of our evening cocktails.

This is the day below, I made Tracy pose for me. She was really quite patient. But it was all in good fun. Great practice for me.

Isn’t she just a cutie patooty?

I like the original but a bit of cropping is good by me.

I took so many photographs in Vegas that I have only just begun to go through them. Keep checking back. I may add more. Thank you for stopping by my blog. Hope to be photographing you soon!

Aren’t the colors of Vegas so delish?
