Sex in the City

Wow! Did we have fun sexing it up with Tony and Galina for their couples photography session. Absolutely stunning couple!  I think they love to dance and definitely suit one another perfectly. It was hard to get the serious stuff because they laughed a lot but I got chills when they did manage to get serious . . . and those fun, laughing ones are really what I am all about. As nicely dressed as they were, they never complained when I set them on the dirty, wet ground or soggy fall leaves. I think that my clientele tend to be creative, spontaneous people who enjoy having their photographs taken, regardless of the location circumstances. Our session was smoldering good fun and I think we got some fabulous images for them. Take a look and feel free to leave us your comments at the end of this posting. Enjoy! I certainly did. Thanks you two! It was a great capture.

I think that Galina was actually making sure there were no leaves stuck to her sexy spike heels but I liked this shot anyhow. Look at Tony admiring his lovely bride. And I just love shadow play!

I could sense that Tony has an understanding of light because I took them to one my favorite spots for fall photographs, and the light was pretty “splotchy” because I like the shadows of the tree leaves and he knew just how to place his face so I could get the best lighting on his face! The three of us made a great team.

Ssssssmokin!!!!

I have many favorites places to photograph in Anchorage but one of the best locations is City Diner.  What a colourful retro restaurant and their diner food is delish! You never leave hungry. What a great idea, these guys had when they put this place in the heart of midtown Anchorage. I get great colours and textures when I use their building for my backdrops. I am sure that we give the inside diners a show but we try to be as discreet and quick as possible!

Then we headed downtown and into the Anchorage city streets. I try to be quick before we get in trouble for playing in the streets. But it makes for unique couples photography sessions and that is what I am known for. I could not really decide which of these I liked best so I put them all in.

Galina wanted city style and Tony wanted nature so we got a variety and headed to the mountains.

. . . and off into the sunset they ride.

Alaska Pieces

I am posting just a few various photographs I have taken around town lately. I may keep adding to this so keep checking back. It has been so gorgeous outside but the great lighting moments have been fleeting. By the time I grab a camera, the lighting goes flat and I end up with nothing. So day by day, I try to find something fun. And yes, I do love blue tones in my images. I really had to chuckle this day because I drove to Earthquake park to see what I could capture and I saw several other photographers traipsing through the snow, as well. I always think I have these great ideas and I am just one of many. Happy Holidays to you.

I have been surprised how many mountain ash berries that are left on the trees. I have seen the wax wing birds come through and devour them, as they do every year but guess we have an over abundance and some berries got left behind.

The trees downtown at town square are so festive with all the giant ornaments.

While driving around Lake Hood in Anchorage, looking for things to photograph on this perfectly gorgeous day, I saw this small plane with a red hood on “his” prop! I loved the contrast of the red with the frosty trees on the Lake. Kind of fun. Kind of sweet, I thought – someone really loves their plane. I don’t think I have ever noticed hoods for props before. Perhaps they are usually black and I just don’t take notice.

When the hoar frost comes in and leaves it’s fabulous magic behind, touching just everything, I think it is so beautiful. I always get a chuckle out of people who take their hands and write the graffiti into the frosted fences of Anchorage. Pretty clever, really. And  ’non-destructive.’

I suppose there is not much point of interest in the frosted branches except that I love them against the blue skies.

Okay Melissa, this shot is for you in Hawaii! Of course, the birds are distracting but no time to worry about getting rid of them. Enjoy! Sleeping lady, for those who don’t already realize . . .

Holiday Wine Fest

It is so magical outside. This time of year brings the best parties. The weather is dreadfully cold but that cold is what makes Alaska so completely gorgeous. The trees are all frosty – pure magic. Went to a really fun party last night. Bill and LeeAnn put this event together every year. So many nice people there. I really enjoy making new friends. There was so much wonderful food and I love that because I really like to graze all night long. There were so many delicious red wines, this group knows their wines. Of course I love a glass of good vino. This is the crazy, happy family. Thanks for having us guys, really great gathering. See you over at Jeff and Gayla’s .  . . yes, all of these pictures were taken with my trusty tourist camera. Thanks for asking. Hey! It’s better than my phone camera.

Always pay attention to what your sommelier is drinking!

I found me some new photographer buddies! Photographers are fun people to hang with.

uh, someone caught Gayla and I scheming in front of Bill and LeeAnn’s coveted wine closet! We were checking out labels to see what we needed to take home to our own little stashes.

I caught these two makin’ out by the wine closet. Not sure who they were, they never came up for air . . . okay. Just kiddin’.

Hey Don, lucky that you know a great photographer who can photoshop out all the wine dribbles off of your shirt. Now no one will ever know!

Anyone that knows Don, knows he is always stylin’.

Adorable couple!

My handsome man, Andy, Gayla and Bill.

See Jeff, ya shouldn’t have left early . . .

Okay guys, I will get these pics to you. Too many to email. Thanks again. Enjoy! Happy Holidays everyone.
