Stefanie, Kris and Pattie

I photographed this adorable couple this fall in my favorite spots of Anchorage. Stefanie and Kris are so much fun and because they had such a blast being silly, we captured some fabulous photographs for their couples session in a beautiful park. Of course, their black lab, Pattie had to get in on the act. They make a beautiful family. I really enjoyed photographing with all three of them. First, romance, then the fun and thank you for choosing me!

Then someone brought these swords . . .  I think the two of them make great fencers and have great form!

Handsome little devil . . . well, dog.

Now for these two, I just could not decide which I preferred . . . take a vote. Do you prefer the colour version or the sepia version? Let me know.

A Fall Affair – Dori and Christian

This is my favorite couple.  I met them years ago when they chose me to photograph their engagement photos. We have become great friends, and now I get to photograph them every year, usually their dog, Guinness accompanies us now and then. I am honored to know them. They are superlicious-fun people to be with and I always get fantastic photographs with them. Enjoy!

Dori and Chris are both very creative people and both photographers. Check out fun photographs on their blog here. Dori and Chris blog.

I love to play with shadows! And look how they participated! Looks great.

I am calling this one: ” Bus Stop “. Aren’t they just too fun?

I was not looking at them, but looking through my viewfinder and watching the wall. So when Chris and Dori came up with this shadow, I was so shocked and could not stop laughing! See, fun people make fabulous images.

Halloween Blog – Clients in Costume

It’s October – Halloween month. I love this time of year. I love to photograph families, couples and children in the fall with coloured leaves and wet ground. I enjoy hiking in the outdoor of Alaska, when the air is cooler and the smell of cranberries remind us that winter is usually just a month away. Our fall is such a short season. In honor of my favorite Halloween time I am posting my clients in costume! I invite all my clients, past and present, as well as friends, to share a photograph with me, of themselves in Costume For This Special Posting. If we have success with this, then we will do it again next year. Keep reading below.

I am having a photography/costume contest. Send me a photo of you or your child in costume. I ask that you identify the costume occupant(s); the photo must be from this year; and I want to know who took the photograph to qualify. I am offering a prize of one complimentary photographic session for the photo voted “Best in Show”. Now that means just about anything. Whatever category I choose. Either it is the best photograph taken, the best costume, most unique photograph or most unique costume, or even the most fun photograph, the one that makes me laugh the most, whatever. It’s my choice because it’s my contest and I don’t really know how many of you will participate . . . so come on, it will be fun!  Send me those pictures. You can find my email on my website or here. vannimages@yahoo.com. Feel free to comment on this blog. Keep checking back to our blog, it is where your photos will be uploaded. Pictures must be submitted by November 3, 2008.

I will identify by first names only but do let me know if you do not wish any name to be printed.

Toooo cute! Okay, so this is not a picture from this year. This is Vanessa and I photographed this little beauty for her Senior Images last year and now she is away at college in Florida. She was kind enough to share this photo with me and I could not help but think, “how adorable”!  Vanessa, thank you for sharing and remember, you MUST send me a new pic from your Halloween Party. Did your mom make this costume?

Above on the right is Jacob the Pirate – complete with his hook. His cousin on the left. Wow, cousin looks kind of tough! I photographed happy little Jacob with his family this fall. Jacob’s little brother is the pumpkin below. Thank you, Ila for sharing. Adorable.

This photo above is Kristin. A gorgeous beauty whose wedding I photographed. She and her husband are away now, as she is in medical school. She shared this photograph they entitled, “Harvest Time”. Although she is not in costume, the photo is stunning enough to be posted! Thank you for sharing, Kristin.

whoooooo . . . . now who would not be afraid of this scary pink little monster . . . that precious smile does not fool me. Be afraid . . . be very afraid. Okay, sweeeet little Finley, not terribly scary but Happy Halloween!

Looks like pirates need their rest! Argghh!
